What are the benefits of booking my cruise through Gold Crown Resort?
There are several wonderful benefits of booking your cruise through us. When we receive your request we double check with the cruise line for the lowest price at the time of your request and provide an additional discount, when permitted.
We are pleased to announce that Gold Crown Resort has instituted a Loyalty Reward program designed to ensure that our members always receive the maximum benefit when booking a cruise. As some cruise lines have prohibited discounting our Loyalty Reward program allows us to provide cash back to our members via a "check in the mail".
Another great benefit is that we check the price weekly prior to final payment has been made for your cruise to see if the price has lowered or if there are any upgrades available.
In the event the cruise fare for your stateroom is lower, we call the cruise line to re-price your stateroom (we have saved members hundreds of dollars with this process!).

Should I purchase vacation protection?
Yes! You've saved, you've waited and now you're all set to go have a great deal of fun. Preparing for your cruise experience includes protecting yourself from unfortunate occurrences that threaten to interfere with your plans. By purchasing protection with the cruise lines you can receive reimbursement for your otherwise non-refundable cancellation penalties, medical costs, baggage loss and delays (please note vacation protection options vary depending on the cruise line).

Do the cruise lines offer transportation service between the airport and the pier?
Yes they do for an additional fee to most ports and it is a convenient option instead of trying to find transportation on the day of your cruise. The majority of the cruise lines will allow you to add transfers up to 14 days prior to your sail date.

What documentation do I need to board the ship?
Proper travel documentation is required at embarkation and throughout the cruise. Although a guest has completed their registration with the cruise line, it is still the responsibility of the guest to bring all required documents. We highly recommend all guests travel with a passport and bring it along to every port of call.
How old do you have to be to travel alone?
Guests are required to be 21 years of age on embarkation day to travel. Guests under the age of 21 must be accompanied in the same stateroom by a parent or guardian 25 or older. Please note this policy varies with each cruise line and exceptions may be made depending on the traveling situation.

How do I book shore excursions?
You are more than welcome to book your shore excursions prior to sailing by logging into your pre-cruise registration. While you may also book them aboard the ship we do recommend booking them ahead of time to avoid activities being sold out.
We encourage you to check reviews from past guests that are often located on the cruise line's website to assist you with making the best decision for your trip.
Are there luggage restrictions?
The majority of cruise lines encourage guests to limit their checked luggage to two suitcases per person, with each suitcase not weighing more than 50 pounds and not exceed 16"H X 24"W. Please be sure to attach your luggage tags to your bags prior to leaving home and make sure they are still attached when you check in with the cruise line.

I don't see the cruise that I'm looking for on the GCR Site. Does that mean it's unavailable?
No, Gold Crown Resort has access to the cruises that are offered by all of the major Cruise Lines. The cruises on our website are a sampling of the cruises that we are able to offer; if you do not see the cruise that you're interested in, simply submit a request by clicking the "Contact Us" button on the Cruises page and complete the information to complete the request. A member of our Cruise Department will send you a quote, in which you will need to review and let us know whether you're interested in booking.

Will my cell phone work on the ship?
While you are docked in a US Port, your cell phone should work. Once you head out to sea, you will most likely lose your cell phone signal (unless you have a special satellite phone which may incur fees based on the cruise line). Your ability to make and receive calls while in the Alaska, the Bahamas, Caribbean and Bermuda depends on your cell phone carrier and their coverage.

Will I be able to access the internet while on the ship?
While internet access is available in public areas with the majority of cruise lines please note that it is not accessible in individual staterooms.
